Sony's Xperia 1 and 5 Mark III introduce variable optical zoom (but that's not what we're excited about)

Sony has just announced the Xperia 1 Mark III, its flagship smartphone with camera technologies borrowed from its Alpha line of cameras, as well as display, cinema and audio capabilities built from the know-how of the broad divisions within Sony Electronics.
